Weirdest shoes

If any person is caught wearing some weird shoe in the street, they are judged for looking so weird. But in celebrity life and with high street fashion this isn't the case. All the big celebrities, mainly popstars wear some big, different shoe to their concerts. Some of these are ridiculously high and are still able to dance in them. But why do they get away with wearing them? Is it because they are famous and they have millions of fans and no one would judge? If some quirky alternative girl wore the shoes with some cool outfit, people would love it, but if its just a normal person who might not have the best dressed sense its different. I think its okay to express who you are and not to care what others think.

The most known celebrity in the world for their crazy shoes is, Lady Gaga. She alone is known for some of the most craziest outfits ever, and with that a crazy shoe. I always associate her with this type of fashion. I like this thought because she's not going with the flow and wearing whats in or not. I think the shoes she wears are statements. Or maybe its for attention? Maybe she likes to get all the attention on the red carpet and especially in the press? These shoes probably cost so much to make and a long time to design. I say the material she uses are one of kind and very expensive. I Thought this was an interesting topic to do, i got to see lots of the shoes that i never knew she wore. Maybe in the future her fashion could become everyones fashion. She even wore a whole outfit and shoes made out of meat.

Shoelaces

No one ever really thinks of shoelaces. When were they made? Who invented them? I thought this was a good piece to do on, as I know for sure not many people would know about them and especially me.  From what I have heard shoes laces haven been around since shoes were out. I suppose when you think about it, people wore leather and palm tree pieces around their feet and they obviously needed to be tied with string. From what I found shoes were invented by a man called Harvey Kennedy on the 27th March 1790, but this is incorrect as shoelaces came out centuries before this! Maybe Kennedy invented a type of a shoelace? Shoelaces also have a small bit of plastic type material at the end of it. This is called "aglet". I never knew this even had a name, but it carries out great functions.

Nowadays there are multiply different colours of shoelaces, you even can get luminous ones! But shoelaces aren't all in common with everyone. Smaller children in particular when they start wearing shoes properly will go for Velcro straps. Velcro straps are fasteners, consisting of two strips which close when pressed together and can be separated when pulled apart. Velcro straps aren't at all cool, epically now. Mainly young kids would wear them cause they are easy to take on and off rather than learning how to tie laces. But what's wrong with having straps at any age? I think its stupid the way people judge what you wear, especially in shoes within the past few years.

Shoes

The first shoes that came out were the sandals. This developed in hot countries and spread. It was simply made from woven palms, grass or plant fibres and attached to the foot with toe loops. Footwear styles have continued to change throughout the years and still have. It has gone from wearing grass on your feet to things like leather, suede and canvas etc. It has changed dramatically and still is going. In the past century we have seen lots of different styles and colours. Girls can wear the highest of heels and still be able to walk around. In the past few years, fashionable trainers have become very popular. Some of the top brands would be Nike, Converse and Adidas etc. We wear them daily and yet we know so little about the history of shoes. Where are they made? How are they made? And how is geography tied in? This blog is going to be about the geography of shoes and the things we don't know about them. Why are some shoes more expensive than others? Is it because of the brand or the manufacturing part?
